Training

Anna Templeton Centre for Craft, Art and Design - Located in St. John's, the Anna Templeton Centre offers a variety of craft and art classes for adults in evening and weekend workshops. Most classes are recreational in nature, but can offer aspiring craftspeople exposure to different mediums and techniques. To learn more visit their website.

College of the North Atlantic - Textiles: Craft and Apparel Design Program - This two year program is offered in St. John's and is located at the Anna Templeton Centre. For details see the program description on the College's website.

College of the North Atlantic - Visual Arts Program - This two year program is offered at the Bay St. George Campus in Stephenville. The first year focuses on a core program of basic skills and foundation knowledge for all students. In the second year students can choose from a variety of specialized studio options. Atlantic Craft Trade Show - This wholesale show is held every February in Halifax, NS. It features craft producers from across Atlantic Canada and attracts gift and craft shop buyers from the Atlantic region as well as some from other parts of Canada and the US. The Crafts Report - This is a magazine about the business of craft, and while published in the United States there is plenty of useful information for Canadian craft producers too. Subscriptions are available in print or online format and there is also a website which reproduces some of the articles from the magazine.
