Emily Best, one of the youngest craftspeople in the Crafts of Character program, is a young aboriginal craftsperson whose products are inspired by the wilds of Labrador and the native berries she and her family have gathered for generations. Using polymer clay, Emily mixes the colours and molds each berry and leaf individually. Her creations are so realistic they can be mistaken for the real thing! Emily's berry designs are used on her switchplates, magnets, trinket boxes, photo frames, earrings, pins and pendants. (Retail, Wholesale)

About the Crafts of Character Symbol

Newfoundland and Labrador crafts are inspired by our distinctive culture, rich traditions, and the abundant resources of our rugged environment.

The Crafts of Character symbol, a wooden boat on the waves, symbolizes the skills passed by generations of Newfoundlanders and Labradorians living and working by the sea.

Wooden boats built by hand have created a tradition of finely skilled craftsmanship. A tradition that captures the essence of our heritage and reveals the character of our people.

The waves represent motion, a people connected to their past and setting the course for the future.

Crafts of Character are recognized the world over as quality craft, gift and apparel products made in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Usage of the Crafts of Character symbol: The Crafts of Character symbol is owned by the Department of Innovation, Trade and Rural Development and may only be used by approved producers and retailers. Any unauthorized use of this symbol or name is expressly prohibited.
